LT includes leather-appointed seats and heated front-row bucket seats with memory foam plus a power liftgate with adjustable height. LT comes with the inclusion of Lane Keep Assist with a Lane Departure Warning, which will notify you with an alert visually and auditorily if the vehicle detects lane-drifting.
The highest-tier trim for the 2020 Tahoe and Suburban is Premier. Both the 2020 Tahoe and Suburban each use the same two engines found throughout their trims. Both LS and LT trims come with a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine with Active Fuel Management, Direct Injection, and Variable Valve Timing. This is already a very capable engine for your Tahoe or Suburban as it can produce 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Let’s say you decided to go with this engine alongside the available Max Trailering Package and 2WD. You’ll see a maximum towing capability of 8,300 lbs for the Suburban and 8,600 lbs for the Tahoe. Without the Max Trailering Package, you can expect a maximum towing capacity of 6,300 lbs for the Suburban and 6,600 lbs for the Tahoe, both with a 2WD configuration. This engine gives the Tahoe and Suburban an EPA-Estimated rating of 15 mpg city, 22 highway, and 18 combined.
If you decide to go with the Premier trim for either your 2020 Tahoe or Suburban, you will gain the option of upgrading the previously mentioned 5.3L V8 engine to an even more powerful 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine. This engine can produce an impressive 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, plus, you can opt for a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine also contains features found in the previously mentioned engine such as Active Fuel Management, Variable Valve Timing, and so forth. This engine doesn’t need a trailering package to achieve similar results as this engine achieves a maximum towing capacity of 8,100 lbs on the Suburban and 8,400 lbs on the Tahoe, again both with a 2WD setup. This 6.2L V8 engine doesn’t have a specific EPA rating for the 2020 Tahoe or Suburban yet, but previous use cases for the engine saw it achieving 15 mpg city and 21 highway when used in trucks. You can expect adequate performance from both of these vehicles even in their base configuration, but it’s important to note the available options on higher trim levels.
