The Five Most Luxurious Pickups Ever

Pickup trucks are known for certain things. They’re obviously renowned for their cargo space, and they’re often praised for their ruggedness and power. One adjective you don’t often see accompanying a pickup truck review is “luxurious,” but that doesn’t mean there aren’t extravagant pickups available.

In fact, there are plenty of manufacturers that are trying to advertise their trucks as “luxury vehicles,” and for good reason. Some of these vehicles feature more glitz and gam than a sports car. If you’re looking for an opulent vehicle that possesses the attributes of a typical truck, you can luckily have the best of both worlds. Before you head out and start shopping for new and used pickup trucks, look at our helpful list of the most luxurious pickup trucks available…

Cadillac Escalade EXT

Caddy

With a $64,000 price tag, the Escalade EXT is one of the more expensive truck available. While new trucks haven’t been produced since 2013, you’ll still be hard pressed to find a used EXT for less than $30,000.

Sure, the accompanying specs certainly makes it worth such a price, as the 6.2-liter V8 engine is capable of producing 403 horsepower and 417 ft-lbs of torque. The all-wheel drive is a helpful feature, and the 13/18 mpg city/highway is what you’d expect for a car with an estimated 5,961-pound curb weight.

What separates the Escalade EXT from the competition, however, is how many luxury-brand features they included in the truck. It starts with an SUV-inspired four-door body style, and the developers also included a remote starter, Bluetooth capabilities, a rearview camera and huge 22-inch wheels.

The outside resembles a truck, but you may be confused when you sneak a peak at the interior. The upscale appearance and sleek seats make for a comfortable, stylish ride. To make the vehicle even more roomy, riders can remove a divider between the interior and truck bed, providing easy access to both spaces.

Ford F-150 Limited

F150

Ford offers four luxurious F-150 models, but there is one that stands out from the rest: the F-150 Limited. Coming in around $51,000, the truck offers a variety of special features. It starts with a stain-chrome finish encompassing the grille, door handles and tailgate trim, and it continues on to the chrome 22-inch wheels and chrome exhaust tip. While we’re on the subject of the exterior, the LED headlamps and LED side-mirror spotlights also add some elegance to the car.

Move to the inside, and you’ll be greeted by a number of special functions, led by the adaptive cruise control and active parking assistance. There’s also a 360-degree-view camera system, a remote tailgate release and (best of all) a panoramic sunroof. You can play with all these features as you look at the eucalyptus wood trim (all real wood), “Mojave” leather seats and de rigueur stitched dash top, while receiving a massage from the front seats at the same time.

Honestly, if you purchase an Ford F-150 Limited, there’s no reason why you’ll ever need to leave your truck. Now if only we could convince them to include a tiny fridge…

GMC Sierra Denali

Denali

This pickup truck has something for everybody. Your passengers will be able to enjoy a roomy ride, considering the 45.3 inches in leg room and the 66 inches in front shoulder room. If they happen to get bored during a long ride, they can easily utilize the USB port, the 12-volt port, and a standard electrical outlet.

The driver can enjoy the heated and cool perforated leather-appointed front row seats, a rear-vision camera and Bose sound system. They can also enjoy the standard 4.3L V6 engine, capable of producing 285 horsepower and 305 ft-lbs of torque, or they could opt for the 6.6L V8 Duramax diesel engine, which can produce 397 horsepower and 765 ft-lbs of torque. If a driver happens to zone out (which could happen given the very quiet cabin), the Sierra Denali will keep you out of trouble. There’s a seat alarm system that will help drift you back into your lane, and the seat will subtly vibrate if you find yourself stuck in traffic.

Of course, other drivers can enjoy the truck, too. With the chrome accents, LED projector headlamps, 20-inch polish aluminum wheels and a number of eye-catching colors to choose from, you’ll be the envy of everybody on the road.

Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6

Benz

You probably won’t see this truck on a used car lot, considering the limited production. However, since we’re compiling a list of the most luxurious pickup trucks, there’s absolutely no way we could leave out the G63 AMG.

The truck can’t possibly get more rugged or powerful. Featuring six 37-inch wheels (yes, six wheels), the truck packs a whopping 544-horsepower via the 5.5L twin-turbo V8 engine. Despite weighing around 9,000 pounds, the company claims the truck can accelerate from zero to 60 in less than eight seconds. Whether you find yourself in feet of water or inches of mud, you can be confident that this truck will get out unscathed.

The interior presents what you’d probably expect from Mercedes-Benz, evident by the “quilted diamond-stitched leather Designo interior,” as Jonny Lieberman of MotorTrend.com explains. The bucket seats are covered in red or brown leather (with contrasting stitching), and your cockpit will feature all the technology you could possibly need.

For all this luxury, you’d probably have to pay an arm and a leg to get your hands on one, right? That would be correct, as the cheapest trucks cost around $450,000. Considering how exclusive and limited the truck’s release was, you’d probably have to pay a lot more.

Toyota Tundra Platinum 4×4 CrewMax

Tundra

The Tundra is known for it’s awesome specs, and Toyota has consistently made sure that their truck rivals any competitor in drivability. There’s a 5.7-liter DOHC 32-valve port-injected V8 engine that produces 381-horsepower, and it allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 in less than seven seconds.

The Platinum edition separates itself from the other Toyota Tundras by offering a luxurious interior. Whether it’s the black leather, front bucket seats or the heated and cooled surfaces, you’ll be riding in style in the Tundra Platinum. Add in the silver trim, the high tech infotainment system, or the abundance of room throughout the cabin, and you’re looking at one of the most luxurious pickup trucks on the market.

As you can see, there are plenty of car manufacturers that are willing to gamble by combining the ruggedness and power of a truck with the ostentatiousness of a luxury vehicle. The five trucks above certainly got it right, as they offer the specs and attributes that you’d expect of a pickup truck, and they find a way to incorporate the amenities of an expensive car.

All of these trucks will cost you a pretty penny, even if you intend on purchasing them used. We can’t blame you if you now can’t envision yourself riding around in one of these luxury pickup trucks, though. If that’s the case, head down to your local dealership and check out their selection today. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll be driving out of their lot in one of the trucks mentioned above!
