Three Chevy’s that are Ready to Rock Your 2015 School Year

Just as those first few cooler nights when you need to pull your sweaters out of hiding infiltrate the warm summer air, so signifies the official end of summer and beginning of Fall. For many families, Fall represents a wonderful season of apple picking, gorgeously decorated landscapes and all things pumpkin.

What it also means is the return to school and tight schedules. Between after school activities, sports events and weekend adventures, everyone has responsibilities. In times like these, families rely on transportation that is going to be dependable, fuel efficient and always ready for the long haul. Dedicated to this task is the 2015 lineup of Chevy cars, trucks and SUV’s.

The Equinox: Ready to Jump into Fall

Fall really is the time for Chevy’s Equinox to shine. Adjusting itself everyday to fit the needs of your busy lifestyle is one of the main reasons this vehicle is perfect for your family. Safety, technology and performance provide the other reasons you need to head to your Chevy dealer to check out the 2015 Equinox.

Multi-Flex sliding rear seats slide back to reveal another 8 inches of rear leg room providing supreme comfort for rear passengers.  Slide the seats forward for more cargo room or fold down to expose 63.7 cubic feet of extra cargo space.

Energetic Performance

Combining the fuel economy of a car, reaching 32 mgps, with the capabilities of an SUV, this crossover provides everything you need to make sure your day rides smoothly, without hesitation or compromise.  The Equinox offers two choices of engines for your preferred power.  A 2.4L 4 cylinder 6 speed automatic features an Eco Mode which maximizes efficiency, comes standard in base models.  A more powerful engine, 3.6L AVL V6 tows up to 3500 lbs. and delivers best-in-class horsepower at 301.

Responsive Safety

Chevy knows that safety starts with you which is why they’ve equipped the Equinox with all new safety features to better ensure safety for you and your loved ones.  Packed with 6 standard airbags and having received IIHS top safety pick in 2015, the Equinox offers Onstar Response System and Guidance Plan.

Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Alert, Rear Park Assist and Lane Departure Warning are all available and come standard in the safety package offered in the LTZ trim. The new safety features in the 2016 Equinox prove Chevy’s continued dedication to keeping your family protected.

Technology to Accommodate Everyday

As time progress, Chevy understands that more and more demands and responsibilities are met via the internet and with the use of wireless technology.  The Equinox offers 4G LTE WiFi guaranteeing constant connectivity and access to the internet.

Siri Eyes Free allows the drive to keep their eyes on the road while dictating commands to access phone, text or music.  Chevy’s onboard system, MyLink offers the best in Bluetooth wireless technology and comes through on the 7-inch touchscreen display.

The Malibu: Prepared for your Teen Driver

2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco

Teen Driver

As one of the firsts in the automotive industry to carry the on board interactive safety system, “Teen Driver”, starting in 2016 this system will come as a standard feature on the premium Chevy Malibu.

With more staggering statistics about teen accidents, parents and car manufacturers alike are taking larger strides in protecting their teens as they get behind the wheel.

By taking advantage of the technology available, parents who are interested in how well their teen’s are driving when they’re not around can now keep track.

“Teen Driver” records certain information such as speed, mileage, radio volume then rates the teen on a report card.  The parents have access to this information to see how well their teen did and then the hope is the report will open dialogue about safe driving.

Convenience Abound

This model year it received one of the very best upgrades in its class, 4GLT technology with a Wifi hotspot availability. In today’s climate of making plans, keeping in touch and always online, this is upgrade is priceless to your family and passengers..

Deceivingly large, both front passengers can take full advantage of the open space offered.  Soft and shapely, the seats offer a number of adjustments to get the perfect fit for the long road ahead.

Need extra space for all the sports equipment we don’t want to ruin the upholstery? The trunk space is optimal 16.3 cubic feet which is more than most midsize sedans offer.

The base model comes with a 2.5 4 cylinder engine that gets 25 city mpg and 35 highway mpg.  There is an optional 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine that doesn’t rate as high, but still has impressive fuel economy of 21 city mpg and 30 highway mpg.

A turbocharged engine delivers 259 horsepower and drives like a V6, and really, isn’t that what we all want?

Saving Fuel Where It Can

An automatic start-stop feature comes with base models and saves on gas by shutting the engine down every time it comes to a stop. Barely noticeable as it stops and starts, its saving you money while running perfectly.

The 2015 Malibu received top scores in safety ratings from both IIHS and NHTSA.  An advanced Safety package consisting of forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert systems is also available.

The Tahoe: Topping Charts like A’s and B’s

2015-Chevrolet-Tahoe

In 2015 the Chevy Tahoe was ranked first as KBB’s Best Buy in Full Size SUV award and won Most Affordable SUV on U.S. News and World Report’s website. It also came in second in Kelley Blue Book ranking of Top Family Cars.

Phew, that’s a lot of recognition!

Your Family Matters

It’s safe to say that Chevy had one thing in mind when making the Tahoe: your family.  Featuring 13 charging locations for cellular devices, 6 USB ports and one 110 volt outlet and available wireless charging station for when you know you can’t miss your doctor’s call back but are running low on battery.

Safety is top priority for Chevy which is why they stock the Tahoe full of 7 airbags and keep a high strength steel frame to aid in preventing collision injuries.

Uncompromising Performance

As a full size SUV, the Tahoe delivers best-in-class fuel economy offering 23 mpgs. A six speed transmission is mated to a 5.3L V8 with 355 horsepower, it delivers non-stop power to tow up to 8300 lbs. Offering more than enough passenger and cargo space to pack, carry and lug a whole troop of kids and adults, the ride is surprisingly quiet.

Shhh…9 Passengers Are Talking Quietly

What? How is that possible?

Most times when people are loud in car it’s from having to yell over already loud engine and underbody noises. This Tahoe has acoustic-laminated windshield and triple sealed inlaid doors help reduce outside noise.

Additional exterior/interior dash insulation and thicker floor barriers placed in critical areas isolate noise from the exhaust and underbody. This means that even with the notorious but completely necessary third row, your ride is as quiet and relaxing as James Taylor’s audience.

Speaking of concerts, your Tahoe is the delivery vehicle for your next tailgating experience. Folding rear seats add to the maximum capacity making more room seem endless. All seats folded down exposes a total of 94.7 cubic feet.

Cool feature we love: the 8-inch color touch screen slides up to reveal a hidden lockable space where you can keep your valuable items you don’t want to take out of the car. Maybe it’s from watching too much Inspector Gadget as a child, but cool features like this appeal to the kid in us all. Thanks, Chevy!
