Cadillac XT4: Exquisite Luxury Served Three Ways

Close your eyes for a moment (don’t really close your eyes, just go with it) and picture yourself in the perfect vehicle; what does it look like? Is it a massive full-size SUV with incredible luxury that stretches from one end of the road to another, dominating every lane of traffic and filling out parking spots within an inch of their lives? Or, is it a small and sophisticated machine that beautifully combines rich luxury with bold technology and exhilarating performance to create a driving experience you look forward to daily? If you answered yes to that first one, then you probably want a Cadillac Escalade—but if that second one feels more “you,” then the XT4 is just what you’re looking for.

Whether you’ve long been looking for a Cadillac XT4 for sale or this is your first time considering one, there’s never been a better time to check it out. The XT4 only recently hit the market, but for the 2024 model year, it’s enjoying an update with a refreshed exterior and superior options throughout. There are three different trim levels available for the XT4 this year, and while the differences between them are sometimes subtle, they can be more significant in other ways. Let’s look at all three trims, and you’ll get a sense of why so many people are excited to get behind the wheel of this beauty…

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 Luxury

The starting trim for the 2024 Cadillac XT4 is appropriately named “Luxury.” The XT4 Luxury trim comes with a 2.0L Turbo four-cylinder engine that delivers 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. That might not seem like much compared to the engines you’ll find in the beefy Escalade, but this is a small crossover that doesn’t need much muscle to get into motion. That being said, this is plenty of power to ensure that driving the XT4 is fun and rewarding—plus, it’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission for a smooth overall experience. This engine comes with front-wheel drive standard, but all-wheel drive is available. (Cadillac provides this engine and these drivetrain options for all three trims.)

A major part of the update for the 2024 model year is a new exterior look for the XT4, including refreshed front and rear designs. You’ll find a new grille on the front end of the XT4, along with new LED headlamps that are standard on all trims, including the starting Luxury. These are paired with LED tail lamps for a cohesive look that also ensures drivers have excellent visibility while driving at night without blinding other folks, as do the high-intensity lights of more garish models. There’s also a new lineup of alloy wheels for the XT4: the Luxury trim comes with 18-inch wheels with a Bright Silver finish for a clean and sophisticated look.

Moving inside the 2024 XT4, we find one of my absolute favorite highlights of this updated model: a stunning 33-inch advanced color LED display with Google built-in. Inspired by the similarly gorgeous LED screen found in the Cadillac LYRIQ, this display is capable of 9K resolution and dominates the front of the XT4’s cabin. Along with this remarkable display, the Luxury trim features a seven-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

You’ll also find Inteluxe seating inside the Luxury trim, with an eight-way power driver’s seat and six-way power front-passenger seat. The Luxury has a keyless open with remote start functionality, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient interior lighting. Driver assistance features have been upgraded this year, and the Luxury includes Front Pedestrian Braking with Bicycle Detection, Blind Zone Steering Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking. Altogether, the Luxury is an amazing start for the XT4 and a great choice for anyone looking for a remarkable driving experience without worrying about anything too indulgent.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 Premium Luxury

Of course, for people who are interested in extras, the Premium Luxury trim includes a number of upgrades over the starting trim. In addition to the engine and overall performance, this trim comes with 18-inch wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish that looks beautifully subtle and refined, which ensures the Satin aluminum details and Bright accent grille really pop. It looks as beautiful as you would expect, and the differences become immediately noticeable if you examine this trim alongside a Luxury.

Inside the Premium Luxury trim, you’ll find everything I love about the starting level but with numerous upgrades and enhancements that build upon it. This trim has the same incredible 33-inch LED display stretching across the front, a seven-speaker sound system, and more. You’ll find gorgeous leather seats inside the Premium Luxury trim, along with a standard Driver Memory Package, which allows for two driver presets that control the eight-way power driver’s seat, the outside mirrors, and the power-adjustable steering column; overall, this makes it a lot easier for two drivers to share an XT4 without changing things manually.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 Sport

Moving up to the Sport trim, we have the pinnacle experience for the 2024 Cadillac XT4, which is perfect for anyone who wants the best that this model has to offer. For starters, we find 18-inch wheels with an exclusive Diamond Cut/Deep Space Gray finish along with Gloss Black longitudinal roof rails and Gloss Black window surround moldings. The Sport trim features a High-Gloss Black mesh sports grille with a Galvano surround that gives it a unique look you won’t find on the other XT4 trims. Similarly, unique Sport LED tail lamps feature a neutral density appearance that ensures clean, even illumination for optimal visibility. The Sport also comes with a hands-free power liftgate, which is available on the Luxury trim but not standard.

Inside the Sport, we find a number of unique touches and details that set it apart from other XT4 trims. These include Sport finish sill plate covers for the front door openings, an exclusive steering wheel, brushed metal alloy sport pedals, and authentic carbon fiber details throughout the inside. Available options let drivers take the Sport even further, including an all-new AKG 14-speaker sound system that creates an incredibly immersive listening experience, as well as a Cold Weather Package that includes heated seats and a heated steering wheel. Drivers can also take safety further with an Active Safety Package that includes Adaptive Cruise Control, new Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, an HD Surround Vision system, and a new Speed Limit Assist system. (This package is not available for the standard Luxury trim.)

Three Options, No Wrong Answers

As you can see, Cadillac has done things right with the 2024 XT4, creating a small crossover that’s big on luxury and innovative technology. There’s no denying that it looks better than ever from the outside, thanks to its refreshed front and rear ends, along with impressive LED headlamps and tail lights that provide excellent illumination. The moment you look inside, however, is when you see the real star of the show: the 33-inch LED display that dominates the dashboard while providing useful functionality and incredible style.

Between the three trim levels, unique details and features are available to allow any driver to customize the XT4 and make it their own. It’s an impressive showing from Cadillac and is further evidence of why they are the preeminent leaders of American automotive luxury.
